A log of my posts across the forums.

Hey everyone!

We are now ready to have everyone use the new Stardock Central! Please note that this software is currently in Beta and may contain bugs or performance issues.

What does the new Stardock Central do? It lets you download and install any Stardock software you've purchased. It notifies you of updates to the software you have it installed. It also downloads the installers to your computer so that you will always have a backup of our software in the future.

You can download it by going to this page and clicking on Download: https://www.stardock.com/stardockcentral/

Note that the new Stardock Central can update itself. This means that when I push a new version of Stardock Central live, it will automatically update itself the next time it runs. There's no need to come back here to re-download future updates!

Please post any issues you have in the Stardock Central Support forum. I'll be checking it daily for any issues.

Bara

Bingo! I think it would be a welcome feature to a lot of users.

If you want it to work as designed, you should uninstall everything you installed via Impulse and install from SDC or the web.

And what if you no longer have Impulse installed? I got rid of Impulse about a year ago. I'm sure I still have some ObjectDesktop apps which were installed with Impulse. Is there an alternative way to flush those old apps and then download them with SDC? Oh, and how can you tell which apps were installed with Impulse? hehe

There's now a Stardock Central 2.66 update available. Starting Stardock Central should auto-update itself to the latest version. You can check what version you have by going to the Settings and looking in the top right corner. If it doesn't auto-update, try again in an hour (a restriction set in place to prevent too many update checks). Please let me know if you run into any problems auto-updating!

2.66 Changelog:

  • Added "View Additional Software" option in Settings dropdown (which links to the My Downloads page on the store)
  • ListView green/yellow buttons now have a mouseover effect
  • ListViews that update themselves no longer have flickering issues
  • Added "View Registration" right click option in Installed Applications
  • Pressing Escape now closes the registration dialog
  • Cleaned up UI slightly

Updated fine on my XP HP laptop. All the new additions are working fine. Great update!

Mine isn't auto updating.

Got mine updated before the Redneck broke it!

What happens when you launch Stardock Central?

It launches. Checks for updates, and refreshes.

BTW, I updated it manually.

Now it shows WinFX 5 beta, but I have installed it twice and it still shows as available.

Just a note to say that the new WB beta update showed as available in SDC. It installed fine and now shows the correct version number and [beta] in the Installed list. (it was showing 7.30 as installed, not the previous beta)

For both installs, did you install it from SDC, Impulse, or the store? Did you uninstall it in between installs?

SDC.

Just made Stardock Central 2.67 live. Starting Stardock Central should automatically update it to the latest version. If it does not, wait an hour and try again (if it still doesn't, let me know!).

RedneckDude
SDC.

Someone will contact you soon to retrieve some information to help resolve this problem.
