A log of my posts across the forums.

Hey everyone!

We are now ready to have everyone use the new Stardock Central! Please note that this software is currently in Beta and may contain bugs or performance issues.

What does the new Stardock Central do? It lets you download and install any Stardock software you've purchased. It notifies you of updates to the software you have it installed. It also downloads the installers to your computer so that you will always have a backup of our software in the future.

You can download it by going to this page and clicking on Download: https://www.stardock.com/stardockcentral/

Note that the new Stardock Central can update itself. This means that when I push a new version of Stardock Central live, it will automatically update itself the next time it runs. There's no need to come back here to re-download future updates!

Please post any issues you have in the Stardock Central Support forum. I'll be checking it daily for any issues.

New Setting: Hide Software. Allows you to hide specific software from the Downloads section.
How is this done? Does it work for the updates section?

Nevermind, found it.  Although, the program I hid was listed as Object Dock Plus 2 - 1.90, rather than 2.1.

Quoting GunslingerBara, reply 101Just pushed an update to Stardock Central (Beta 2.70). The changelog is as follows:

Added a right-click option for software to go to it's product page on stardock.com (or wherever makes most sense).
Now showing the logged-in user's avatar and username in the corner of the Downloads section.
In the Downloads section, there is a new "View Subscriptions" link at the bottom right to view your current Object Desktop and WinCustomize subscription status.
Redesigned Settings popup to better separate Stardock Central options and to make things easier to find.
New Setting: Just Download. Allows you to just select and download our software without installing.
New Setting: Start on Windows Startup. Forces Stardock Central to start on Windows startup.
New Setting: Hide Software. Allows you to hide specific software from the Downloads section.

Stardock Central will automatically update itself the next time you launch it. If it does not, please wait a few hours and try again. If you do not yet have Stardock Central, you can get it here.

If you run into any errors or problems, please make a post in the Stardock Central Support forum!

Will there be a "Minimise to System Tray" option in any future updates? I find it a little annoying having to close SDC every time I start or restart my PC with the option "Launch Stardock Central on Windows Startup" selected. I did try searching the forums before asking this question but could only find a really old post to the old SDC dated August 2007 which looked like the feature wasn't included then also.

A "minimize to system tray" option doesn't exist yet. Keep in mind that if you have the "Automatically Check for Updates" option selected that SDC will automatically run at the defined time and notify you of any updates. Other than that, I don't see a reason for keeping SDC in the system tray at all times.

So SDC doesn't have to be running when "Automatically Check for Updates" is selected?

Correct.

It uses the Task Scheduler, so it doesn't use up any system resources when it's not checking, that way you don't have to worry about it slowing anything down.

So... where is the Stardock Central download link? All I can see is "This product is no longer supported" at the download page here: https://www.stardock.com/stardockcentral

If you are an Object Desktop subscriber, it's recommended to use Object Desktop Manager now.

See more about ODM here: https://www.wincustomize.com/article/453911/

Ah okay, thank you! Unfortunately I just purchased a few one-offs instead of the whole Object Desktop suite. I think I'm out of luck. : /

on Jan 24, 2015

This annoys me too as I bought ObjectDock and CursorFX Plus (which aren't included in Object Desktop).

on Jan 24, 2015

This is an old thread PalZero, Stardock Central is not even used any more and has been replaced with Object Desktop Manager.
