Hello everyone,

As Stardock's web developer, I was tasked with creating a statistics website for Demigod using the ungodly amount of data we (will) have available to us.  That website is now located at http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com.  A bunch of you already saw the "beta" version a few weeks back.  While this site is still a beta, I am happy enough with it to remove the beta message that was at the top of the page in the previous version.

Today I pushed an update that added a bunch of new statistics, pages, and a slight redesign. Starting today I will be keeping a log of changes to the site in this post.  I will also be checking for any suggestions, ideas, or feedback you guys may have on the site, so feel free to reply with any ideas. 

Please keep in mind that the site is still a work in progress.  Some numbers are still off, the design will likely be changed some more, and we will be adding more statistics in the future.  It will likely be updated a few more times before Demigod's release.

Change Log:
9/21/2009
- Fixed how player stats are saved to the database, so custom games now count for Ladder Rankings/Experience (not all custom games though, just ranked custom games).
- Added Notes tab to player pages. This will allow you to view and manage private notes for other players, which will eventually appear within Demigod itself. Only you can view notes you've written, and you cannot view other's notes or notes written about you.
- The player stats on the left side of the primary player page now includes a small description for each stat.
- Fixed minor bugs with graphs.
- Fixed other minor bugs.

- Added "Ladder" stats and rankings, which include Skirmish and Pantheon games.
- Updated "Overall" stats to include everything, Overall is not ranked.
- Added Tournament Stats to player stats page.
- Player's games listing now shows "NA" if a game is not counted.
- Updated search page to show more information and be more informative.
- Updated achievements page, it will be turned on when the stats are reset.
- Other minor bug fixes and design changes.

5/18/2009
- Added graphs for each Pantheon tournament.
- Added graphs for maps.
- Added graphs for Demigods.

- More changes to back-end for API.

5/11/2009
- Player stat charts!  Go to any player's initial page and you'll see some cool new charts and a slightly different layout.
- New tournament lists page (click on View All Tournaments at the bottom of any Pantheon page).
- Added current team progress chart (by percentage) to the right of the Pantheon page.
- Minor performance and back-end tweaks.

- Lots of back-end changes to prepare for public API.
- Added sorting options to the Top Demigods and Maps pages.
- Updated all pages to make a more consistent error message system.
- Updated player search to avoid certain errors.

4/24/2009
- Maps statistics!  You can now view overall statistics for each map, as well as how you did on each map.
- Fixed up some search issues.
- Added "Skirmish Statistics" to the player info page, on the bar to the right (click on Overall Statistics to see a dropdown).
- The games list now shows the game name.
- Tons of changes in the backend to make things faster and more accurate.

4/9/2009
- Added Top Demigods section, showing which Demigods are being used the most, win the most, etc.
- Added Demigods tab to player info page, showing which Demigods each player has played their stats for that Demigod (note: stats are inaccurate for the time being).
- Added Skirmish Rankings tab to Top Players.
- Major changes to how we are collecting stats and data.
- Minor image and backend changes.

4/7/2009
- Added sorting to games list, search sorting coming later.
- Added small arrow icons to headers to show you which column is currently sorted, and in which direction.
- Updated games listing to make it more readable, added a new page for each game for extended info (click on the date to see the page).
- Minor background changes.

3/31/2009
- Sorting now works on rankings pages, has not yet been implemented into other pages.
- Search page columns slightly tweaked.
- Search bar now works properly in Chrome.
- Player info page now shows rank and favor points for overall and custom game stats.
- Other minor changes.

3/23/2009
- New design!
- Added experience and overall rank to search page.  All search statistics should now be "overall" statistics, not custom game or tournament stats.
- All pages now have proper headers and titles, should make things easier to navigate and harder to get lost.
- Player info page now shows the player's avatar and lists tournaments the player has participated in by default.
- General player statistics are now relegated to the right side of the player info page.  Clicking on "Overall Stats" will dropdown a box that allows you to switch between overall and custom game stats.
- Search box now submits by pressing enter.
- Added message to bottom of ranking page saying "Note: Rankings are updated once daily at midnight EST."
- Small presentation changes for numbers and dates.

3/10/2009
- Added new "Experience" rating on nearly any page that shows a player.
- You can now see what team a player is on for tournament rankings.
- Games list now shows the game type (Conquest, Flag Control, etc.).
- Added player count for each team on the tournament info page (note: this may not be accurate at the moment).
- Added "Top Clans" button that redirects to nowhere (for now).
- Renamed all instances of "Skirmish" to "Custom Games" (let me know if you find any I missed).
- Added tabs to top of rankings pages to switch between Overall rankings and Custom Game rankings.
- All instances of "Forces of Dark" renamed to "Forces of Darkness."
- Minor design, wording, and bug fixes.

- Redesigned the player page and added tabs for separating stats in a more user-friendly manner.
- Added a player search bar to all Pantheon pages (top right corner).
- Separated skirmish, overall, and tournament stats into individual pages.
- Added an achievements page, but data is inaccurate (see Known Bugs below).
- You can now view a list of games a player has played.
- Clicking on any rank number will take you to the rankings list with that player highlighted.
- Added 2 buttons at the top of the page: Pantheon Tournaments and Top Players.
- "Pantheon Tournaments" button will take you to the latest (active or inactive) Pantheon tournament.
- Top Players now shows overall top players, not skirmish top players.
- Tournament information page now shows each team, the top players for that team, and the team's information.

Once again, the Pantheon statistics website is located at http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com.  I look forward to your feedback!

That is correct Rydier.  If you search for me on pantheon you can see I have 250 favor points and yet no games that should have been able to earn me any, the points are available to me in game also. 

On another note, good to see how much active feedback takes place in this thread!

Hey I just noticed a problem with the stats for the last game. My team won a fortress defense pantheon game. Yet it shows that I lost and my partner won b/c I was dead at the time the last fortress was destroyed maybe? idk

Also everyone was an AI except me b/c of people disconnecting.

If everyone was an AI except you and you got a loss, then that means you disconnected from the game.  Disconnects are an automatic loss.

I just checked my pantheon stats, and was extremely supriced and disappointed.

Mainly I checked, as I my team has not lost a single since I started playing as an Unclean Beast,  and I wanted to see how the pantheon would show it. Pantheon has failed.

It shows loads of losses for me, and when I started investigating, it looks like there are 2 reasons for this:

Reason 1: The statistics record a loss for me, even from a game that starts full of AI, or where I got AI on my team at start, and I leave almost immediatelly after game starts.

 Reason 2: Not sure what's causing it, but there are some games where EVERYONE has lost. (Maybe desync causes this?)

Anyway, this was a kinda disappointing. I really looked forward to the online stats, but seeing how they are void, null, obsolate currently, I can only hope that they will be chanced in the future. Currently the buggy matchmaking for the Pantheon is hurting the stats too much.

Ah, this could well be the case, though it does raise another issue.  Once I log in and check my achievements there appear to be many I've earned that haven't awarded the (what I assume is corresponding Favor Points in the top right corner) to my account.  Perhaps that's not a problem for this thread though (have listed this in the Report Problems forum).

Maybe I've misunderstood, but was it not mentioned in a previous update the Ladder ranking was supposed to reflect Skirmish and Pantheon games?

Yesterday I had a single Pantheon game (recorded as win), and went from 2540 to 2533 Ladder experience. (plenty of Custom games in addition, both wins and losses)

I also noticed a player advancing 4 spots on page one of Ladder ranking with nothing but Custom game wins over the weekend.

If you go into a game that is all AI, that means you disconnected during the loading process.  Disconnects are automatic losses for now.  We'll see about changing that so it's a little more fair.

If a game shows everyone as losing, that means the host disconnected, no one was chosen as the new host for some reason, and so everyone got a loss.  Would you happen to have a link to some games where you saw this?

I believe achievements are still being worked on, to fix the remaining bugs.  We recently updated the achievements heavily to work with our CVP system.

There were recenty discussions of adding custom games to ladder again, but I'm not sure when T-Man and Frogboy were planning on doing that.  They may have already done that.

That seems to be the only one I could find. (Don't even remember how that game played out, been a while.)

A question:

Early Quits
Games that last less than 3 minutes aren’t counted. If you get into a game where it’s lagging or you have an obnoxious partner or opponent or someone has a very slow sim speed, you can quit in those first few minutes, no harm, no foul.

So say I somehow end up with an AI partner, and leave as soon as the game starts. The other team then sees the opportunity for easy favour points, and continues with the game against AI. So the total game continues, but my game ends within the first minute. (This is very common scenario.) Will I end up with a loss in that case?

Since you quit within the first 3 minutes, then no, it shouldn't count.

Can something be done for stat tracking regarding the host disconnect exploit (I documented this in detail here http://forums.demigodthegame.com/357971).  Is it possible in the web coding to exclude games from the stats where there is only 1 winner (excluding 1v1 games of course)?  That wouldn't do much to help everyone playing with someone using the exploit (as they'd all still get losses), but at least they wouldn't be able to artificially inflate their stats using this method.

Is there anyway we can get this thread back to sticky, because it has a lot of good information and a good link for the patheon stats page. And why was it unstickied to begin with. It has been stickied since before release of the game.

How much longer until stat tracking works?  I am pleased to say that it appears all of my games are tracking in the pantheon now and counting towards my record (good job!). 

However, please make the 3 minute concede "no harm done" start from the point the game actually begins, not from the point where you get hung at "waiting for other players" as the game tries to load.  That's pretty useless.

My last "loss" in pantheon came when the other 3 players disconnected during the game loading screen.  I patiently waited it out, and after about 7 minutes the game finally started (with me and 3 AIs).  Not wanting to do a 20 minute comp stomp (I AM playing multiplayer after all aren't I?), I conceded thinking that the 3 minutes would make the game show "N/A" in my stats.  Wrong.  The game shows up as 9 minutes long -- all 4 players got a loss.
