Skill ranking or Favor Points?  The better skilled player may get less points....

I've decided not to push the update I have now.  I'm working on coding the new design now and will push that when it's finished.  Expect it later this week (or early next week if time flies).

A Pantheon tournament is won by a team, the first team to reach a specific number of goal points wins.  The goal points are the amount of favor points players receive whilst playing a game.

Since my own stats are what I know -

Games:

5 and 6

I wasn't in either of these games but they show up on my stats.  I know Tman was testing in one of them, but what about the other?

Also

- first and second page of games played is the same games, duplicated.  I can't tell if the stats are also duplicated.

- Winning Streak is not recording properly

- Losses and Losing Streak don't have backup.  I don't think I ever lost 5 games in a row?  

- Rank, games played, and W/L is different on different pages

The first link lists you as being ranked 4 for your team, the Forces of Light.  As in, you are ranked 4th against all of the people who play as the Forces of Light, but NOT the Forces of Darkness.  The second link disregards the team and simply pools everyone together for the tournament.

I admit that it is a bit confusing.  The new design should amend that when I complete it, and I'm always open to suggestions!

I will check and see why those games are showing up under your name.  Are you certain you did not play those games?  It could be an issue of your name simply not showing up due to some other condition, but you actually did play the game.  If you didn't play the game at all then the issue is more complex than I'm think it is.

(EDIT: According to the database, you were in both of those games, but the TeamID wasn't set, which is why you aren't showing up in the games list.  This will be addressed for the next beta or by game launch.)

First and second page showing same games: fixed.

Winning streak not recording: I'm assuming you mean that you won a game and checked the stats and found the winning streak to be wrong.  Did anyone quit during the game?  How many players were there?  Which game specifically was it that you played and won where the winning streak wasn't updated properly?

Losing streak:  What do you mean by backup?  Do you mean that the current losing streak doesn't reset after you win a game?  Or that the largest losing streak is too high? 

W/L being different: The first page you linked shows the Overall W/L ratio, the second shows the custom games W/L ratio.  It would make more sense for searches to show the overall stats rather than the Custom Game stats, so I'll update that with the design.

I can tell you with total assurance that I was not in either of these games in any capacity.  However, I did attempt to join both of them, and might have been in the game lobby for them.  I either timed out or quit out of both lobbies well before the game started, though.  The players in the games are accurate, afaik, but the system is logging the games to my ID even though I didn't play them.

I think I might see it - do Pantheon games not count towards winning streaks?  Because between game 7 and 13 I have 6 wins in a row but my winning streak records as 5?  One of those games was Pantheon.  This makes sense too because it says current streak is two wins but I actually have 4 including Pantheon.  If you are going to differentiate on a stats basis like that then I would suggest making it very clear that Pantheon games are not recorded for prupose of streaks.  I might even say take Pantheon games out and make a seperate page for them.

I can't recall losing 5 times in a row.  It doesn't mean it didn't happen, but if the games list you corrected (cheers) is accurate then I don't see the backup for a 5 game losing streak even discounting pantheon?

Last two game are missing someone.  They were 3v3, with no disconnects:

My last custom game was done with an easy ai and filthy rich to test out a theory.  It shows I won that match but no player or favor info is present:

I'm really liking the Pantheon my connection is usually solid and the game runs great. However i think i may have encountered a bug. NO ONE responds to the chat. I'm wondering if they can even read it. It almost feels like I'm playing with Bots. It's agonizing to watch people run into an enemy base blindly during a Slaughter match.

If you're "carpewrist" in the game, I think I played a game with you yesterday.  I don't remember you talking, but you were on the Forces of Light, right?  Probably you just pushed Enter, which sends to allies, and not Shift-Enter, which sends to all -- and yes, I'm pretty sure everyone else on your team and on my team was a bot.  You can't tell who isn't by looking at ping times, btw: a non-zero ping time tells you that *someone* is not a bot, but ping times seem to be assigned starting with the first member of the Forces of Light and going downwards.  (presumably that'll be fixed by release)  I've played Pantheon games where the other human was on the Forces of Darkness with me, and you wouldn't have known from the Tab display (I didn't realize until recently, in fact).

Stats still not showing up correctly with correct favor

What is experience?  How do we gain it?  Why is it currently used for ranking instead of favor?  When are we going to have an ELO/ranking discussion with brad and the rest of the team?

I would like to put my vote in for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glicko_rating_system instead of ELO.  ELO is great if you want to be able to do the calculations in your head but overall it's a simplistic system that has some notable downsides.

Glicko on the other hand tends to be more encouraging of players to keep playing games even when they have a high rank (unlike ELO which discourages it) and it also doesn't hurt well ranked players as much when they play against someone with an uncertain rating (ie: a new player or someone who has suddenly come into a lot of skill).

ELO was good, then Glicko and computers came out.
