The reason I waiting is that I don't believe there is a roll back option to version 3.5, which I have now, available in the Stardock store.

Weird. It's running just fine on the husband's desktop Win 7 64-bit system.

(He's my software tester)

When did he download it?  It's possible that it's been fixed.

There was a DX 4 beta already available before this release. Is it possible that he installed before today?

Well i would wait until they say it's been fixed before installing it and even then think twice about it LOL.. And it would be a good idea to make a restore point before installing it..

Hm, the setup file says it's for the Beta but like I said, it was downloaded less than thirty minutes ago.

He's loaded desktops and imported a few objects, so...

The new installer wasn't overwriting files properly. Fresh installs were fine. I've fixed it. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

And yes, in the future, the new updater will show this and fetch it for you rather than having to visit the web page yourself.

Advice to the wary, create a restore point first.  That simple.

Wonder if Nakor was able to fix it?

Okay, who is going to try downloading it?

(If I just would have waited........)

One infuriating thing about him; he never has bad luck on any of his computers.

Makes me want to hit him with a handy book or something.

Will it bury it in the backyard if it doesn't work?

Wizard, behave yourself.

But you do bring up a valid point.  To my knowledge DX 4 wasn't working very well to where folks went back to 3.5.  I wonder if this beta has fixed those problems or is this just interface update?

OK, now it's working but there are no themes. Where does DX now store themes? All mine are still in program files but they do not show in DX Config. I choose load desktop and get an empty list.

Why can't we just leave all my files where they've always been?

Nakor, please tell us where the themes/widgets/gadgets are stored.

Maybe DX buried them in the backyard,,,,
