We all offered useful help with bug reports and working with Alberto over the years just to be left with this complete mess.

I have DesktopX Pro 4.0 Beta, which is actually 3.96. It works pretty good.

If you were fast, and on the ball, you could have gotten it when I did and archived it, like I did. I fully realize that doesn't help you now.

I expect Windows 8 and UAC is gonna kill DesktopX.

i use the pro 4.0 beta a lot for some things i do for work.  like a program to copy 1 folder to 10-20 machines using xcopy. or a backup program that uses multiple cmd windows, checks file locations, etc.  it works pretty well.  shame there is no life for dx4 here.  wish there was some new things that could be added.  and bugs fixed.  For one program i still (after 4 years and 20 emails) have to go into the users/appdata/...stardock/ and removed a file that is created by the program or else 1/2 the images on the screen dont show up, but its now part of my procedure for setting this up, and im used to it.  not that it wouldnt be nice to see it fixed.  so many cool idea that could be done with DX.
